About Highlands Ranch, Colorado

Highlands Ranch sits southwest of Denver in Douglas County and has around 100,000 residents. With its borders almost touching I-25 and C-470 it provides easy access to the north-south corridor as well as west to the mountains and ski resorts and east to Denver International Airport. 

The community of Highlands Ranch, like other areas in and around Denver, value its green space. The greenbelt has mil of multi-use paths and parks for families and their pets to enjoy. Hiking, biking, and jogging are common activities among Coloradans in Highlands Ranch. Northridge Recreation Center also provides tennis courts, batting cages, a climbing wall, and pools.

Homes in Highlands Ranch have been built since the 1980s with Richmond Homes as one of the original developers. Today you’ll find ranchers and two-story family homes on spacious lots and quiet, tree-lined streets. There are nearly 100,000 people and nearly two-thirds of its homeowners are married families.

Along with a libraryrecreation center, and retailers in the area, you’ll also find Park Meadows Mall and Cherry Creek Mall within a short drive. Highlands Ranch offers a host of restaurants, bars, and nightlife for parents to have a night on the town. Parry's PizzaFujiyama Sushi and Hibachi, and Lansdowne Arms are some local favorites.  Coors Field and Mile High Stadium, along with Elitch Gardens, the Denver Aquarium and the Denver Zoo are easily accessible entertainment choices. 

Highlands Ranch is part of the Douglas County School System and has six public high schools and Valor Christian High School, a private Christian school. The area offers parents a choice of private and public schools to suit the needs of their children.
