About Fairfax

Fairfax is a well-established subdivision within the Briargate neighborhood in northeast Colorado Springs.

Its houses were primarily built about 20-30 years ago, which gives this neighborhood a unique charm. Its trees are matured and the homes are characterized by their old stateliness and spaciousness.

However, if you’re looking for more modern or new houses, then the Fairfax area gives you that option too! An adjacent section of the subdivision, called Woodmen Pointe, was built in 2006 and offers new homes with more features.

The residents of Fairfax are more of an equal mix of homeowners and renters than some other Briargate subdivisions and Fairfax’s streets are quiet, peaceful, and clean. It connects with the wider Briargate community, which means that Fairfax residents can take advantage of the features Briargate has to offer, such as the great Briargate family YMCA.

Fairfax is family-friendly and dog-friendly, as well as affordable. It offers three different neighborhood parks, which are all well-maintained and include baseball diamonds, grassy common areas, basketball courts, playground equipment, and small pavilions for neighborhood community gatherings.

Its prime location within walking distance of several highly-rated schools in the area makes it a great choice for families.

Residents also enjoy its close proximity to a variety of resources and amenities. Fairfax is close to Colorado Springs’ downtown area. Everything from shopping, dining, and healthcare to recreation, business centers, and military bases are within a 15-minute drive and some shops and business locations are just a few miles away.

Housing Options

Fairfax’s homes were largely built in the 80’s and 90’s. They are generally ranch style homes, tri-levels, and 2-story single-family homes.
Most homes in the area include basements and 2 car attached garages. Houses tend to be medium to large sized 3 to 4 bedroom homes with square footage anywhere from 1,800 square feet to 2,200 square feet.
