About Central Colorado Springs, Colorado

Central Colorado Springs area is a mix of older neighborhoods and historic sites clustered around the Colorado Springs downtown historic and old north end areas.

The area features historic sites, such as the historic college and the Antlers Hotel building. Some of these historic buildings remain private residences, and other have been transformed into bed and breakfasts, museum, art galleries, or office buildings.

Central Colorado Springs’ downtown area is also a great developing center for shopping, dining, and entertainment. It features many locally-owned restaurants and shops, and an excellent school system.

Residents love its convenient access to schools, military bases, shopping, dining, health care, fitness and recreation centers, as well as theaters and other forms of entertainment. It is also close to the historic Patty Jewett Golf Course and provides spectacular views of the mountains.

The historic, peaceful atmosphere of downtown Colorado Springs’ earlier days still pervades the area, despite the growth of the area. Residents enjoy walking in the area’s lovely, clean community public parks, great public libraries, and museums and arts centers.

The region’s historic buildings, both residential and commercial, have an air of grandeur and elegance that brings a sense of gravity and history to the downtown area.

The central area is a sprawling mix of charming older neighborhoods and welcoming subdivisions developed in the early 1900’s with large trees. The downtown area makes it a priority to keep its neighborhoods clean, safe, and friendly for families, retirees, and singles.

Homes in this area are a mix of large, stately restored manor houses and mid-century ranch style homes, as well as slightly smaller homes along generously sized streets. Many houses feature open floor plans, quality amenities, and a close-knit surrounding neighborhood community. There is a house for every style and price range, from small bungalows to sizable Grand Victorian homes.

Central Colorado Springs is also a great place to get outside! It is close to Memorial Park, which has an outdoor pool, playground, panic areas, sports fields, and walking trails. If you want to go to a more secluded park, try Bear Creek Park, which is largely made of quiet woodland. There are various other public parks nearby so there’s something for everyone!

The low-crime rate, historical environment, peaceful yet growing community, as well as the growing economy and great city amenities, make Central Colorado Springs a great place to live.
